Our investment in Rungie

We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Rungie, supporting the team in their journey to bring creators, brands and fans closer than ever, leading the €1.5M pre-seed round together with Vizz Agency.

With the advent of the internet in the early 2000s, brands quickly discovered and exploited new ways of interacting with their fans and clients. Taking advantage of novel distribution and communication channels, brands, content creators and corporations could speak to their followers through social media, merchandising and major in-person events.

These engagement methods have remained largely unchanged in the past decades, while users and their preferences have evolved considerably. This has driven the rise of a new class of brands that have learned to speak the same language as their customers, such as Vicio, Nude, TwoJeys or Glossier, creating fans where there were once consumers. These digitally native challengers are outperforming incumbents.

We believe that there is still considerable opportunity to build on these new relationships, bringing brands and users together; and there has never been a better time to do so as the lines between brands, content creators and institutions are getting more blurred than ever.

While yet unproven, one of the potential uses of blockchain is as the infrastructure to underpin these relationships in a way that is more transparent, trustable and disintermediated. As in every technological cycle and transformation, there’s a time of transition, where incumbents in the old world need to adapt to survive in the new landscape. Established players will need to learn, design and launch new products according to this new paradigm; working with Web3.0 players to understand the infrastructure of tomorrow’s internet.
