We’re very happy to be able to share that Okta, a leading online identity platform, has acquired Arengu.
We first invested in Arengu in 2019, months after meeting co-founders Jacobo, Sergio and Pablo for the first time. We were excited by their vision of building a low-code tool that could complement existing identity providers and that would allow all kinds of users (technical and not) to build complex signup and onboarding processes.
Many at the beginning misunderstood the company as one more form builder, but many users and customers also eventually understood the complexity behind certain signup and onboarding processes, and thus the value that Arengu provided: the ability to build seamless onboarding experiences with any stack, multiple user touch points, data enrichment, integration with third parties and a visual interface that required no coding skills.
Long before the company got accepted by Y Combinator, it was a simple email to introduce them to a member of Auth0 (acquired by Okta in 2021) that escalated quickly internally and that kickstarted the relationship between both companies, which has culminated in today’s announcement.
It’s been a real pleasure to see first hand the evolution of Arengu’s product through the years, the different GTM approaches that we tried and ended up implementing, and especially the growth of Jacobo as CEO and Pablo and Sergio.
We’re very happy for the team and we can’t wait to see what they do next within Okta.
Graciñas por todo, Jacobo, Sergio, Pablo and the rest of the Arengu team!
